PART 4 CROWDFUNDING:

Final part for this project: the CD is ready, and finally we got the album in our hands, This part of the crowdfunding will go to the actual printing and design costs for the album , the publicist costs for the album promotion, and the mastering of the album.

We have about $9,000 open standing costs for the final realization of the album, and promotion.

So far we have done 7 concerts with the choir and Amina’s sextet, and the audience is going crazy, tears are flowing, everyone is very emotional after seeing this live.

PART 3 CROWDFUNDING:

It is post production time, we recorded 5 more tracks on December 20, 2023 at the Samurai Studios with Amina’s sextet with Wayne Escoffery, Alex Pope Norris, Rudy Royston and Yasushi Nakamura. For this part we would need about $3750, to pay for the studio, and musicians. We hope to do this in January 2024, so we can start the album design and CD reproduction in February 2024.

PART 2 CROWDFUNDING:

As you might have seen on Facebook, Instagram, or in our email blasts from the last couple of months, We are working on an incredible project combining Amina’s Sextet with the Matsiko World Orphan Choir from Liberia. “The Suite for Africa” is recorded and mixed at this point

The suite is about 16 minutes, and to make this a full album, we will be recording the sextet on December 20, 2023 at the Samurai Hotel Studios in Queens by Mike Marciano of Systems Two.

In the old days, we would record an album and recoup the money with CD sales. These days, with all the streaming and digital media, that concept doesn’t work anymore.

This is why we are starting a second part of our crowdfunding campaign to make this recording possible.

PART 1 CROWDFUNDING:

We were able to record and mix the Suite For Africa with the Matsiko Choir, thanks to the generous help of our crowdfunders for part 1 of this project. Now, we only need to master this part of the amazing project featuring the Matsiko World Orphan Choir and the Amina Figarova Sextet.

The instrumental part of the Suite had been recorded on May 25, 2022, at the Brooklyn Recording Studios in NYC. We performed live in May 24 in NYC, and we recorded the Matsiko Choir at Teaneck Sound in New Jersey on May 25, 2023, and at the Clayton Studios in St Louis, MO on June 20 and 21, 2023.
